In a week that has brought immense speculation on CM Punk and Daniel Bryan returning to pro wrestling with AEW, as well as Goldberg and John Cena mounting comebacks on WWE programming, the biggest mainstream crossover star in the sport's history could be set to outdo them all.

The Man Men Pro Wrestling Podcast's Andrew Zarian reports that WWE currently plans on having Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson at Survivor Series 2021.

This is in line with what the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported in June, when he wrote that WWE wanted to have the Hollywood star on board for its last 'Big Four' pay-per-view of the year. Now, it appears that these plans are one step closer to fruition.

The Rock has been heavily linked to a program with cousin Roman Reigns since the current Universal Champion returned last summer. Recently, Meltzer reported that a WrestleMania 38 tag team match could be in the works, with the idea being to protect Johnson from injuries, though a singles bout has been speculated as well.

No wrestling promotion could conceivably pull off a bigger return than this in 2021, despite current activity. Let's see if WWE can make it happen.
