Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has penned a huge multi-year deal to become a global partner of the UFC.

This news was announced last night, with the Great One's Project Rock athletic label - which is a part of Under Armour - signed up to become the official footwear of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

In terms of what this agreement means, male and female fighters and their corner teams will wear Project Rock footwear for fight-week promotional events, workouts, weigh-ins and for their walks to the cage on fight night itself.

Reebok had been the UFC's previous footwear sponsor of choice, but those duties will now be taken over by Johnson's sports brand. Additionally, Project Rock and UFC will release a co-branded range of shoes later in 2022.

At this time, the financials of this deal have yet to be made public - although the agreement is already in place, with last night's UFC 270 the inaugural night for Project Rock to be featured in a UFC setting. There, UFC Heavyweight Title Francis Ngannou retained his prize by unanimous decision against Ciryl Gane.

As for Dwayne Johnson, the multi-time WWE Champion has been a long-time friend of UFC's Dana White, plus was on hand to present Jorge Masvidal with the BMF Title back at UFC 244 after Gamebred beat Nate Diaz.
