The Rock's 10 Best WWE Moments

7. I Am Iron Man

Following the much….uh, watched, Fatal Fourway at Wrestlemania 2000, Mr. McMahon was firmly back on the side of darkness, betraying his charge the Rock and aligning with HHH and daughter Stephanie. The feud kept building the next month at Backlash, when Steve Austin assisted the Rock in winning the title. With the animosity reaching its zenith at Judgment Day 2000, in which HHH insisted on battling the Rock in the second-ever Iron Man match in WWE broadcast history.

Up until that point, the benchmark of this match was the entirely divisive Wrestlemania clash between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. That being said this one was….better! The action kept up at a frantic pace, the spots were designed to be more brutal, and the overbooking played to the strength of the story, keeping the audience engaged. The falls were frequent, but varied, with sleeperholds, intentional disqualifications, flash roll-ups, signature spots, and count outs among them.

In true Attitude Era fashion, run-ins dominated the closing minutes, with both men tied at 5 falls each, when a returning Undertaker made a memorable return, debuting as the American Badass and laying waste to the combined DX-McMahon faction, obliterating Shane McMahon with a top rope chokeslam through a table, eventually costing The Brahma Bull the match due to disqualification. This match, though it didn’t go in the Rock’s favor, demonstrated that he could absolutely go the distance.
