The Rock's 10 WWE World Championship Reigns Ranked From Worst To Best
5. WCW Championship (7th) 19 August 2001 - 21 October 2001
Shortly after losing the WWE Championship to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin at WrestleMania X-Seven, The Rock left the company for a while to film The Mummy Returns. He returned in the summer and was immediately inserted into The Invasion storyline.
As a member of Team WWF, ‘The Brahma Bull’ challenged Booker T for the WCW Championship at SummerSlam and won the title for the first time in his career. But what really helps this reign get such a high place on this list was The Rock's feud with Chris Jericho, which even saw the unlikely duo win the WWE Tag Team Championship for a short period of time.
At the time, the young Y2J had been in WWE for more than two years but was still nothing more than an exciting midcarder. The storyline heading into their WCW Title match at No Mercy 2001 was that Jericho could not win ‘the big one'. The Rock put Y2J over like a true pro in their program, making him look like a credible adversary as Jericho went on to win his first of six WWE World Championships.
