The Shocking Stat Behind Why WWE's Queen's Crown Tournament Is A Bust

Queen of the Ring this most certainly is not - and the numbers prove it.

Match length remains a hot-button topic amongst WWE fans after last night's episode of Raw, which hosted another couple of short quarter-final matches in the ongoing Queen's Crown tournament.

The competition has sparked controversy for the limited time afforded to its participants compared to the men's King of the Ring tournament it runs parallel to. It began on SmackDown (8 October), when the following matches played out:-

- Zelina Vega d. Toni Storm (2:10)

- Carmella d. Liv Morgan (1:40)

Then, on Raw, the following:-

- Shayna Baszler d. Dana Brooke (1:25)

- Doudrop d. Natalya (3:00)

Thus far, the Queen's Crown tournament's total ring time stands at 8:15. This is less than three of the individual men's bouts: Finn Balor vs. Cesaro (11:25), Xavier Woods vs. Ricochet (10:55), and Jinder Mahal vs. Kofi Kingston (8:55).

Currently, the average Queens Crown tournament has gone around 2:04, compared to the King of the Ring average of 9:48. It's possible to fit every single Queens Crown bout so far into that number - and leave with change.

Both tournaments are set to conclude at Crown Jewel 2021 on 21 October, with the semi-finals set for this week's SmackDown and next week's Raw.
