The Undertaker's 10 Most Dramatic WWE Segments

6. Descending From The Rafters With Bat-Wings (Survivor Series 1996)

Returning to the same 1996 feud with Mankind, this entry comes from that years Survivor Series PPV, in which the two terrifying competitors fought in a match with an even more unique stipulation than Buried Alive, This time, Paul Bearer (formerly Undertaker's right hand man, but who had now aligned himself with Mankind) was suspended 20 feet above the ring inside a steel cage. Yes, this really happened! If Undertaker won the match, he would then be able to get his hands on Bearer and unleash all manner of vengeance. Silly stipulation aside, it is actually Undertaker's superb entrance that is most remembered. Fans cheered as they watched him descend from the roof of the building, wearing what looked suspiciously like Batman's cape. It definitely looked like Bat-wings anyway, and made for a supremely cool visual. No wonder Mattel made a special action figure based on this event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxE1_V_YifE In the 1990's, The Undertaker wasn't the only superstar to come to the ring suspended on a wire (Shawn Michaels and Sting also made a habit of it). However, this kind of thing simply does not happen anymore, after the tragic passing of Owen Hart in 1999. Hart died after an equipment malfunction during a similar entrance from the rafters of an arena, and from that point on it was rightly deemed far too dangerous a stunt to continue doing.
