The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin did battle on Raw on several occasions. Every time, it was a massive rating, giving WWE a critical and commercial success. It really was one of the defining feuds of the Attitude Era. When the deadman now looks back, those Raw matches with Austin must rank up there as some of his best Raw moments. They had done battle numerous times on Raw, including in 1996 and 1998, but it is the 1999 matches that really stand out. There was a heated main event on May 31 1999, which was as hot as the WWE ever has been. It really could be argued that Austin Taker was in fact the most epic feud of the Attitude Era period, with Austin as the Hogan and Taker as the Andre in terms of historical context.
