The Undertaker's 12 WWE Hell In A Cell Matches From Worst To Best

2. Vs. Mankind - King Of The Ring 1998

Come on, it was either going to be this one or that other one, wasn't it? Mick Foley guaranteed himself a lifetime of highlight reel appearances with his incredible one-man stunt show at the 1998 King of the Ring. The Undertaker was essentially just a passenger, there to throw Foley off and through the cell. To be fair to 'Taker, he worked the match in extreme pain as he was still in the process of recovering from a broken ankle. Nobody remembers that act of bravery, though. No, the spotlight was well and truly taken up by Foley, who was apparently determined to kill himself live on pay-per-view. Here we are almost twenty years later and this match has lost none of its impact, regardless of how many times you watch it. Even after taking the two big bumps, Foley still suffered an ungodly amount of abuse at 'Taker's hands, including an introduction to some thumbtacks. Undertaker won, but the result wasn't important here. Foley made himself a much bigger star than he was when he walked into the match. He paid a price for it, though, suffering a catalogue of injuries. After the match Vince McMahon told Mick that he never wanted to see anything this extreme/scary again. Foley listened (kind of).
