The Undertaker's 12 WWE Hell In A Cell Matches From Worst To Best

1. Vs. Shawn Michaels - Badd Blood 1997

The original and still the best. Yes, the cages may have gotten bigger and bumps more over-the-top but, for my money, this is still the best Hell in a Cell match yet. You had a furious Undertaker, bitter as hell that he lost the World Title at SummerSlam and Shawn Michaels, who at this point was the best wrestler in the entire world and on one hell of a run. It was a recipe for success. The match told a simple story, with the powerful, vengeful Undertaker simply overwhelming the smaller HBK and Michaels having to use the elements against his larger opponent. Michaels tried to escape (a cameraman was wiped out leading to WWE officials breaking the padlocked door), only for Undertaker to follow him outside and, eventually, all the way to the top of the cell. While there, a bloody Michaels was tossed around with reckless abandon. Michaels sailed off the side of the cell through the announce table (not as spectacular as Foley's descent, but impressive nonetheless). Like the truly evil zombie-like asskicker that he is, 'Taker just continued to wail on him, destroying him with a top-rope choekslam and a horrific chair shot to the head. Then the now-familiar sound of organs blared and the arena turned dark and a masked man wearing a red jumpsuit ('That's gotta be Kane!') came out, ripped the door off its hinges and confronted Undertaker before blasting him with a Tombstone Piledriver. Michaels, with his last ounce of strength, draped an arm over him and just barely got the win. Can Undertaker and Brock Lesnar come up with something to rival Michaels/Undertaker at this year's Hell in a Cell? It's a long shot, but considering the quality of their SummerSlam match, not out of the question. We'll find out on October 25th.
