The Undertaker's WWE Career: 9 Ups & 5 Downs

Downs...

5. The Giant Slayer

Early on in his career, 'The Deadman' had something of a reputation for being a giant slayer - and it was a well-earned reputation at that, because as soon as Vince McMahon introduced a new monster into WWE, you could damn sure bet that they would cross 'Taker's path.

But the larger-than-life bouts would only ever look good on paper because the in-ring limitations of the monsters meant that 'Taker would have to work hard to get a good match out of them - something that was virtually impossible for him to do in the early '90s because of the constraints of his slow-moving undead gimmick.

We never really knew the greatness 'The Phenom' was capable of when he was lumbered with these slow, plodding affairs. Of course, it got much easier when he adopted his MMA fighting style but why creative ever felt the need to revisit those days throughout his career is still pretty baffling.
