The Undertaker's WWE Career: 9 Ups & 5 Downs
3. Trying To Recreate The Past
When you've been around as long as 'The Deadman', you're bound to find yourself revisiting some old haunts from time-to-time. We've seen it happen many times throughout his career as he's crossed paths with old rivals for a second time or pulled an old trick on a new challenger. Unfortunately, WWE felt the need to take that much, much further in recent years.
You remember how he lost to Roman Reigns in a moment trying too hard to be the end of The Streak? What about how he and Triple H faced each other for the 'last time ever' six years after they 'ended an era' in a five-star battle?
An incessant desire for the aging veteran to turn the clock back in his twilight years saw the creative team attempt to recreate the magic of his glory days just so that they could have him put over another star or sell out another super show. But the man simply couldn't live up to those expectations and these unnecessary attempts to make him do so risked turning him into little more than a nostalgia act.
