The Undertaker's WWE Career: 9 Ups & 5 Downs

7. Brothers Of Destruction

Brothers Of Destruction Undertaker Kane

We already know there would be no Kane without The Undertaker - 'The Big Red Machine' was, after all, introduced as 'The Deadman's brother - but we don't talk enough about how we may not have an Undertaker without Kane. Of course, 'Taker would still exist - he went for seven years without any mention of a Kane - but it's hard to imagine where his career would have went if his fiery other half hadn't showed up when he did.

Though he had broken free from the shackles of the New Generation era's 'Deadman' gimmick, WWE did have a tendency to stick him in similar storylines on repeat. Kane's arrival changed that, giving him a long form story that, for once, made him seem mortal. And those cracks in his supernaturally hard exterior made him a much more engaging character.

It's well-documented that the first Undertaker/Kane rivalry is the best piece of epic storytelling WWE has ever done, but the pair's story didn't stop there. They remained in each other's lives for the remainder of their careers, forming the 'Brothers of Destruction' as they dominated the tag team division and crossing each other to renew that rivalry throughout the next decade.

The Undertaker's story is that much richer because of Kane and it's hard to know if he would have achieved the legendary heights he did had it not been for 'The Big Red Monster'.
