20. The Boogeyman Beats Booker T (WrestleMania 22)

Ponder something collectively for a second, if you will: Booker T's crud-drenched feud with The Boogeyman occurred the same year he won King Of The Ring and randomly turned the royal gimmick into a sensational piece of business. It was a throne-sitting show of defiance from Book. Give him all the rubbish you wish, WWE writers. He'll make the most of it.

Or erm...not.

That's likely unfair on T. Both he and Sharmell were shoved into one of 2006's worst moments by warring with a clock-wearing Halloween character who ate worms for a living. No, he really ate worms for a living. Creatively, the storyline was worm food from the off. Fans sighed their way through every interaction, then asked one simple question as April approached: 'What? They're actually putting this in the ring at WrestleMania 22?!'.

"They" most certainly were. Booker was so directionless before that iconic KOTR win, man. He hadn't even been on the 'Mania card 12 months prior - Book won a pre-show Battle Royal before 21 went live. In truth, he'd been slipping down the ranks for a while. Becoming 'King' would change all of that, at least.

Not even Charles Robinson's Hollywood-worthy facial expressions (you were a year out for an Oscar, Chuck) could save the day. Boogeyman could be effective when used as a lower tier scaremonger, but he had no business beating someone the quality of Booker T at WrestleMania. No business at all.

Poor Sharmell had to close her eyes and lock lips with he who munched invertebrates too. Some people get all the luck, huh? Yuck.
