The WORST Moment From Every WWE WrestleMania

5. Weather Wreaks Havoc (WrestleMania 37)

Tampa storms postponed the first 30 minutes or so of opening night at WrestleMania 37. Behind the scenes, WWE had to be cursing their luck there. After all, this was the first time they’d been able to welcome any fans back to shows since the COVID pandemic started the prior year; 17,946 on the first night, and 18,501 on the second.

Collectively, everyone from roster and management to camera crew and even fanbase had to improvise before Bobby Lashley beat Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Title in the opener. The masochists out there will say: 'At least we got Michael Cole and Samoa Joe in ponchos out of it'. Fair, but what a disaster this was for the company back when it happened.

Memes hadn't surfaced of Cole and Joe looking like a pair of pensioners going for their weekly shop just yet, and there was a very real chance that the weather could get even worse and threaten the show. Imagine the knock on impact of that. WWE might've tried to squeeze everything onto the second night, thus forcing fans to relive memories of those exhausting 6/7 hour gauntlets of yesteryear.

'Mania's new 2 night formula proved successful under bizarre circumstances in 2020, so it was clear that splitting things up was the way to go from here on out. Bonus points go to Joe for pulling some of the most sensational facial expressions as the rain poured down on top of him and his lil' rainmate, right enough.

That pic you see above summed up the feeling until things got back on track.
