The WWE Superstar You Never Thought Would Leave... Is Leaving

FTR Cash Wheeler Dax Harwood

Speculation is always more fun than fact finding when looking into wrestler moves and machinations because the hard data often undermines some of their bluster. Dax Harwood has attempted to walk this tightrope in recent years, seemingly enjoying the buzz it generates, as well as - presumably - upping his own value to the promoters that have his services and those that might yet wish to (re)acquire them.

Dax Harwood, with the blessing of Cash Wheeler and Tony Khan, spoke about FTR's contract status and the vital nature of their next big move back in January. Then, he said;

"I’m thirty-eight years old. I talked last week about how hard it is for me to play with my daughter. We’re on the tail end of our career now, and this point in our career is the most important...I mean that monetarily, I mean that creatively, I mean that personally. It is the most important time of our career...I don’t know yet; contract is up in April. I’m not exactly sure on the exact date, our gimmick attorney would know that. But it will be somewhere in the beginning of April.”

This is immediately generated huge speculation about the future of 2022's best tag team, not least with WWE's complexion vastly different (if no longer Vince-less) than it was when the pair last worked there.

But how does this relate to Edge, or indeed why Edge might have chosen to suddenly relate to them at Elimination Chamber?

A once-impossible tag match is in the works, and it might have just become a big enough one to start the latest talent arms race.
