This WWE SmackDown Tag-Team Is DONE!

WWE took another big step towards splitting this duo on Friday's SmackDown.

It looks like the union between Brawling Brutes pair Ridge Holland and Butch is toast. WWE had Ridge walk out on Pete Dunne during their tag-team match vs. Pretty Deadly on this week's episode of SmackDown, and that left lil' Butch on his own to eat defeat.

Sheamus is expected to return at some point though, so it's possible this is part of a redemption arc for the Brutes. The veteran Irishman could launch a comeback and help the Holland and Butch duo mend fences long-term. Or, perhaps WWE thinks it's time to move on from the idea of those lads as a team.

At least they've got something going on creatively, if nothing else. That's certainly a step up from just working random tags and being cast as go to lovable losers in the Friday night doubles division.

WWE has been booking a few miscommunication spots between Butch and Holland recently, so this is just the latest step towards their split. It'll be interesting to see what Pete Dunne, in particular, can do as a singles star on the main roster in 2024.
