Those Times Wrestlers Dodged Career-Killing Bullets

3. Pumpkin Finn Balor Battling Against Sister Abigail Is Scrapped Due To An Illness Concern

While any performer suddenly going down injured or ill is typically an unfortunate thing in the wrestling business, it was actually somewhat of a blessing in disguise coming into WWE's 2017 Tables, Ladders, and Chairs PLE.

Before the late, great Bray Wyatt was pulled from the event due to a viral meningitis outbreak, the former WWE Champion was involved in a peculiar feud with Finn Balor - and said rivalry had just taken a particularly surreal turn.

In the weeks leading up to that PLE, Wyatt unleashed his "Sister Abigail" character on the WWE audience, with Balor then answering with his own strange pumpkin-faced Demon persona.

This one had all the makings of one of the most embarrassing nights of either terrific performers' careers.

Wyatt being forced out of the bout, though, led to both men being saved from this incoming potential catastrophe.

AJ Styles stepped in as a late replacement, the two former Bullet Club leaders put on a much better match than the one that was likely once heading fans' way, and this largely forgettable Balor/Wyatt feud was mercifully brought to a quiet end.

All's well that ends well, eh.
