Having had a bit of a stop-start 2025 in AEW, Thunder Rosa is questioning what she needs to do to be back in the title picture.

Speaking on the latest episode of her YouTube vlog - an episode that celebrated 100,000 subscribers for Thunder - La Mera Mera says she's been questioning herself lately.

As the former AEW Women's Champion explained:

"Things are very sombre for me right now. There's a lot of things that I want. You guys make me believe that I should be a champion. But it doesn't matter what I do, I still can't reach, I still can't get a hold of that. It keeps becoming very frustrating."

Thunder Rosa then added:

"Losing, losing, losing makes you really sombre and sad, and question yourself. I've been questioning myself a lot lately. Straight up, I want to be a champion, but everybody else is telling me that I don't have what it takes to be a champion. Okay, then what the f**k do I have to do? Show my t*ts? I don't know."

Thunder Rosa In AEW

As alluded to, Thunder Rosa has had a somewhat strange 2025 in AEW so far, wrestling just six matches for the company, and only one of those - against Penelope Ford back in February - resulting in a win for the hugely talented Rosa.

In fact, Thunder's most recent match was at the latest set of Ring of Honor tapings, where she teamed with Persephone against Leila Grey and Lluvia. Whether ROH becomes more of a regular home for Thunder Rosa remains to be seen, but it's a little odd to see someone as good as her struggling to find a spot of any real prominence on AEW programming. A great in-ring worker, a very solid promo, one of the most popular acts in the women's division, and having that rare, intangible 'it factor', it would seem a no-brainer to use Thunder Rosa as a featured player.

Where Thunder Rosa talks about wanting to be a champion, that's been something of a problem for various women in AEW lately. By that, the TBS Championship has been locked firmly around the waist of Mercedes Moné for over a year now, with Mercedes batting away any and all challengers, whilst the AEW Women's Championship has revoled around 'Timeless' Toni Storm and Mariah May for the past 18 months or so - although Rosa did at least get a couple of shots at that AEW Women's Title across that period.

Moving forward, we've got Moné vs. Storm on the horizon at AEW All In, so we could end up with a situation where the TBS Title is vacated. And if so, somebody like Thunder Rosa would be a smart choice to step into that role. But then again, the same could be said about a Willow Nightingale, a Kris Statlander, a Jamie Hayter, a Megan Bayne, a Mina Shirakawa, etc, etc.

It's also worth noting, Thunder Rosa's latest vlog saw her throw out the idea of her facing Britt Baker at All In in a Hair vs. Hair match, renewing their long-standing rivalry. However, D.M.D. has been completely absent from AEW programming since November, with reports since stating that AEW currently has no imminent creative plans for Britt. As such, that proposed All In contest seems unlikely to come to fruition.
