TNA's 10 Best Moments

6. Triple X Vs. AMW - Turning Point 2004

Perhaps the greatest move in TNA history came near the end of a fantastic match between Triple X and America's Most Wanted.

The two teams had a lengthy feud with each other, delivering great matches every time out, but neither side was able to claim superiority. They decided to end it all at Turning Point, the company’s second ever three hour pay-per-view event.

The stakes couldn’t have been higher: the losing team could no longer tag with each other. What made the match even more special is that the battle closed out the show, going on after AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Savage vs. The Kings of Wrestling. A tag match in the main event was absolutely unheard of at that time in WWE, so it was cool to see the division get some love.

Triple X and AMW threw everything they had at each other, but both were unable to capitalize. With so much at stake, big chances were needed. Elix Skipper was the one called upon to put his body on the line, as he amazingly tightrope walked along the top of the cage to deliver a beautiful looking hurricanrana onto Chris Harris.

It was a breathtaking move, one that made time stand still for a moment. Unfortunately for Triple X, it didn’t grant them victory. AMW won the hard-fought and bloody battle in one of the year’s best matches.

It showed that at the time, TNA was the place to be for great tag team wrestling.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
