TNA: 5 Reasons It Is Everything Wrong With Professional Wrestling
1. Hogan Knows Best 2: Brooke's Revenge
Brooke Hogan's debut. THE NUMBER ONE REASON! The second her music hit was the actual second I turned off TNA Impact, or whatever they want to call themselves, for good. I find it funny that I can actually name the time and date of which I hit the switch on the old idiot box and proclaimed TNA dead to me. This was their "David Arquette" moment. My God, whoever came up with this little piece of kayfabe needs to have his or her ass removed. Are you serious, bro? TNA IMPACT had become Hogan Knows Best.A girl (not woman) whom has had not one professional wrestling match, who has had not one ounce of prolonged training and who quite frankly, hasn't shown us that she is the sharpest knife in the drawer, was put in charge of the Knockouts Division, which was quite frankly the only thing left that you had going for your once promising young company?
"I'M DONE!" That was it for me. The final insult. It would've been less of a slap to the face of an actual pro wrestling fan if they announced Eric Young as Knockouts Tag Team Champion. Oh wait, THEY DID. The irony of this whole thing is that a simple reversal of each decision that they have made for the "good of the company" which I have highlighted here for you today would probably be all it took to get the majority of fans back into the fold. But not I.
This was the moment where TNA not only surpassed WCW's legendary failures but actually became a parody of not only that which came before, but of themselves also. It would take more than a simple gesture such as this to renew my faith; maybe an apology to all of us fans for their misguided attempts at fixing what didn't need to be fixed in the first place. And a free Kurt Angle shirt.
TNA have "crossed the line" and have become an embarrassment to sports entertainment, a distinct reminder of why these people should never have been put in charge in the first place.
