TNA: 6 Reasons Sting Is Everything Wrong With Professional Wrestling

Honourable Mention: A Douchebag To Aussies

Sting ANot too long after WCW folded, there was an attempt to create a new federation called World Wrestling Allstars (WWA), which actually managed to get an Australian sponsor with Andrew MacManus, and it kicked off with a pay-per-view live from Sydney itself. It was the precursor to TNA, and featured many beloved former WCW, ECW and WWE superstars, not to mention an appearance by Bret Hart himself, who was made the Commissioner of WWA upon its "Inception" (that was the name of the PPV, y'see). Now, although it didn't last too long, they managed to get a second show down here, this time featuring Sting in the main event (I still have the photos), and the way he behaved, right from his entrance, was just shocking to say the very least. He didn't acknowledge the crowd. He didn't even give out any hand slaps or do any signings (in Sydney anyway), nothing at all. He came in, had his match and left. He didn't even hold up his newly-won WWA title, just walked straight backstage without even a freakin' raised hand. Now, although I was never a big fan to begin with, this was the time when I actually thought to myself, "Wow, what a selfish, arrogant prat." I had nothing against the man personally until he did this. Now, I don't care if he just flew in (and his arms were tired) or he hadn't slept or whatever reason he thinks he may have that allows him to act so disrespectfully, but considering WCW was out of business and we all paid good money that went towards his actual paycheck, which he wasn't getting many of at the time, I think he could have showed a little bit more enthusiasm to us wrasslin' fans, thank you very much. However, I don't feel it should make the list as it is simply a personal experience, although if he acts like that on a regular basis when he is not being televised, I may have to rescind that. If anyone else has had a similar experience, please let the world know via the comments section.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
