TNA's Future - 7 Ways It Could Go

4. Vince Buys Them

While some fans may dream of a TNA invasion angle on Raw, where guys like EC III, Lashley, Mike Bennett and Aron Rex come in and destroy the set just like The Nexus did...well, it’s just not going to happen.

WWE has rarely ever acknowledged the existence of TNA. And why would they? At their peak, they were drawing 1/3rd the viewers of Raw, and their live attendance was a much, much smaller fraction than that. Unlike WCW, TNA may have never even had a year where they turned a profit. And right now, less than 400,000 fans stateside are watching them each week.

Also, do you think he’d really want to promote the initials “TNA” on his PG program each week, even as part of an angle?

McMahon would likely buy them up, put old episodes of Impact on the network, and use the footage he owns to be used in future features on Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles. He'd then move on with his life, and probably never think of them again.

Yes, some people like Drew Galloway and EC III would probably be given another shot in WWE (though like Bobby Roode and Eric Young, they may have to start in NXT), but the vast majority of people we watch every week would simply disappear. If your'e a fan of wrestling, and people just having jobs in the industry, this probably isn't the scenario you should be rooting for.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
