Tony Khan Praises Chris Jericho's Physical Transformation Following "Health Scare"
Deserved praise for Chris Jericho, who is in tremendous shape at the moment.
AEW President and founder Tony Khan has heaped praise on Chris Jericho for his recent transformation, doing so on the Revolution 2022 preview episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast.
Host Aubrey Edwards mentioned Jericho's "washboard abs" after Khan had said the 51-year-old was in better shape than when he was AEW World Champion. From there, the AEW chief continued, celebrating Jericho's ability to bound back after a recent health scare (h/t WrestlingNews.co):-
“He had a little health scare and came back and he came back looking better than ever. I think he was out for a little bit, getting healthy and I think for Chris, like this is not only the best he’s ever looked but when we’ve seen him in the ring, he looked very sharp. I think it took him a few minutes to get his footing back against Santana and Ortiz, but you could see this is to me physically, probably the best Chris has looked. And now that he’s gotten his bearings back in the ring, I just think with Jericho looking like he does and you know, talking the way he’s been talking, this is a really interesting match."
Questions over Jericho's health arose in December 2021, when his hospitalisation forced his band Fozzy to cancel a date on their latest tour of the United Kingdom. His first match following this came on AEW Dynamite's 26 January episode, when he, Santana, and Ortiz faced 2point0 and Daniel Garcia.
Jericho is due to face Eddie Kingston at Revolution 2022 this Sunday. It'll be the veteran's first singles match since facing MJF at All Out 2021 last September.
