As the First Lady of Wrestling, Miss Elizabeth found a niche for herself as the sweet, girl next door who never said a bad word about anyone and who deserved much better treatment than her jerk boyfriend was giving her. Elizabeth and Randy Savage are usually always mentioned in the same breath and for good reason: The Macho Man and Elizabeth are one of the most iconic duos in wrestling history. Elizabeth debuted when the heel Randy Savage introduced her as his new manager, causing Bruno Sammartino to remark that this new woman "must be some sort of movie star." Elizabeth's classy attire and sweet personality meant the entire crowd had a crush on her and hated Randy Savage for mistreating her. The dynamic between Savage and Elizabeth is probably something that could never be duplicated because their personalities clashed in such an entertaining way that the crowd couldn't help but watch. Elizabeth broke away from Savage when he turned heel on Hulk Hogan but they had a tearful reunion at Wrestlemania VII and she played a huge role in Savage winning the title from Ric Flair in 1992. Soon after, Savage and Elizabeth ended their real life marriage but still worked together when Randy jumped in WCW in 1996. Like most of the roster, she joined the New World Order later on but never seemed comfortable in the heel role that required. Elizabeth continued to manage various wrestlers (including boyfriend Lex Luger) but seemed to get very disinterested in the wrestling business. By 2000, it was obvious her heart wasn't in it anymore and she was released in August. Elizabeth never made another wrestling appearance after her release from WCW but she did accompany Luger on his tours of the independent scene. However, after domestic violence allegations against Luger became public, Elizabeth was found dead on May 1, 2003 in the Georgia home that they shared. An autopsy revealed that Miss Elizabeth died of a combination of vodka painkillers. In the end, the wrestling business may have killed its own First Lady.
