10 Wrestlers WWE Should Sign

2. Kazuchika Okada

If you know me or my work elsewhere, you know that I'm on record in saying that Okada very well could be the best worker on the planet today. Better than Daniel Bryan. Better than CM Punk. Better than anyone. I've been watching his work in New Japan Pro Wrestling for the last few years, and I literally cannot recall a single bad match that he's had. His series of IWGP Heavyweight Title matches with Hiroshi Tanahashi are, arguably, the best series of matches between two wrestlers of all-time. Yes, I said of all-time. Big whoop. Wanna fight about it? Okada is young (he'll turn 27 in November), isn't the stereotypical small Japanese wrestler (6'3" and 235 pounds), is still improving almost on a monthly basis, has a North American style character that would fit in well, and from all accounts, he understands and can speak a little English, having lived and worked in America for nearly two years as a part of TNA (who, to the surprise of nobody, blew it by making him nothing more than Samoa Joe's lackey). Of course, it's always the language barrier that stands in the way of international talent making it big in WWE, with Sin Cara's lack of English speaking or understanding causing him to have so many in-ring botches and miscommunication with opponents being the prime example, and while I wouldn't have Okada coming in and cutting mid-2000s Triple H-style 20-minute promos, there can be a good solution to this... Paul Heyman. Heyman has said that he's a fan of Okada's work, and if there's anyone that can take a relatively unknown name (to the target WWE audience) and build them up to be something special, it's Heyman. His promos and discussion of Okada's body of work would be all Okada needs to help get him over, and his in-ring work would take care of the rest. It isn't rocket science.
