WWE 2K23 didn't do this wrestler dirty, but he was rather worried it would!

Cody Rhodes has blamed himself for failing to appear in last year's WWE 2K22 video game, and admitted he's "super petty" about his character's ratings in each official release.

The Royal Rumble winner told Comicbook that he was the one who stopped a possible berth on 2K22's roster from happening - Rhodes knew he was coming in from AEW ahead of the game's release, and 2K did want to put him in, but the wrestler concedes he's "very particular about the American Nightmare" branding and "the whole concept of it".

2K didn't have a ton of time to work with, so they quickly abandoned thoughts of sticking Cody in. He was obviously a huge selling point for this year's 2K23 release though.

Rhodes had reservations about that one too, because he still has a hangover from the old 'Stardust' gimmick and how low-rated the guise was in WWE games. Cody was concerned that 2K might do his current run dirty by giving him a mediocre score in 2K23.

They didn't. Rhodes in-game character was rated 91 overall, which pushes him towards being one of the strongest wrestlers featured.
