None other than Sami Zayn has announced on Twitter/X that he'll be doing some live comedy as part of the 'Netflix Is A Joke' festival on 11 May. Here's hoping for a HELLUVA set.

That's why Sami has been booked to do some stand up and not this writer.

Seriously though, this shows that Zayn is branching out from pro wrestling into other projects. Sami has shown excellent comedic timing during skits in the past, most notably as an honorary member of The Bloodline. Before that, he also worked a critically-acclaimed slapstick stunt show vs. Jackass man Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38.

Comedy comes easy to the would-be Intercontinental Champion. On that note, Zayn challenges record-breaking IC Champ GUNTHER at this year's 'Mania 40. It'll be interesting to see if he wins the belt, and if that then has any knock on impact on his side quest comedy work.

Zayn isn't the first wrestler to branch out into stand up. Mick Foley, Dolph Ziggler and a few others have been involved in specials previously, but perhaps nothing as high-profile as this Netflix gig. Fingers crossed Sami smashes it and shows off his natural personality to a whole new audience.
