AJ Styles went down injured during a WWE live event last night.

With WWE putting on a show inside of the Giant Center in Hershey, PA on Thursday evening, the second bout of the night saw The Phenomenal One, Karl Anderson, and Mia Yim take on the trio of Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley.

However, the action was suddenly stopped on the back of Styles flying over the top rope and landing awkwardly. Styles immediately reached for his leg/ankle, and the dreaded 'X' symbol was thrown up as the contest was quickly brought to an end.

The former WWE Champion was then helped to the back by Anderson, Yim, and some WWE officials, with Styles noticeably struggling to put any weight on the injury.

And in an update from PWInsider, sources have stated that the injury is 100% legit and not a work. AJ is said to have "likely" injured his ankle and it is set to be checked out ASAP.

At this point, it's not really clear how long the O.C. leader will be out for if the injury is a serious one. But here's hoping the veteran sensation bounces back from this unfortunate setback in the not too distant future.
