Triple H: Face Or Heel?

2. In-Ring Work

Face: When the storyline has been right, fans have responded to Trips' in-ring comebacks. For example, fans in New York seemed split over who to cheer for at SummerSlam 1998 against The Rock (both were impressive), and there was a healthy reaction for Triple H opposite Kurt Angle at No Way Out 2002.

Generally, however, the up-against-it baby role doesn't suit him.

Heel: Being a super-accomplished in-ring machine with evil intentions does.

As a heel, Hunter has been able to slow down and control matches with a stunning amount of poise. He expertly picked the spots for Chris Jericho to rally back during matches in 2000, knew when to act cowardly against The Rock, Shawn Michaels and others, and even gave Ric Flair the means to play sympathetic babyface in 2005.

Winner: Heel. Triple H just has natural instinct for when to dominate and when to bounce around/sell.
