Triple H's WWE Characters Ranked - From Worst To Best
5. The Degenerate
After a few years of pretending to be into opera and that sort of stuff, HHH started rolling with real-life friend Shawn Michaels and pushing the envelope of the early Attitude Era. The two soon became known as D-Generation X, and even though they were heels, their sophomoric antics gained them a fan following.
Even though WWE later tried to retcon it, HHH was clearly HBK's sidekick during this time period. Once Michaels lost the WWE Championship to Steve Austin and took time off to deal with a back injury, though, Triple H took the reigns of the group and completely changed it.
Keeping bodyguard Chyna and adding X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws, DX became a popular babyface group. Though, again, WWE plays fast and loose with history when it comes to DX's overall impact (the group didn't single-handedly win the Monday Night Wars for WWE), they did become huge merchandise sellers. Today, their catchphrases and trademark gestures are part of wrestling lore.
