Triple H's WWE Characters Ranked - From Worst To Best
3. The Connecticut Blueblood
When HHH was in WCW, he played the role of a French aristocrat named Jean-Paul Levesque (a gimmick inspired by his real name and French heritage). When he jumped to WWE in 1995, the company dropped the French part, but kept the snobby, upper-crust elitism in the form of Hunter Hearst-Helmsley.
Triple H played the role of an etiquette-obsessed gentleman pretty well for a guy who's probably never even read a book cover to cover. His snooty facial expressions sold the character well, as did his tailcoat and cane. It wasn't anything ground-breaking - it was really just the latest in a line of effete, Gorgeous George-inspired characters - but it was a good place to start.
It didn't hurt that Triple H had the body for the part. Back then, Helmsley was a trim 225 pounds, about 50 pounds lighter than the human wall he'd become in 2002. He didn't have to worry about looking like a gladiator when playing a gentleman, and years later, the opposite was clearly true.
