Two Titles Change Hands At WWE Stomping Grounds

It wasn't all bad...

Ricochet United States

Ricochet was crowned the new United States Champion after defeating Samoa Joe at WWE's Stomping Grounds pay-per-view last night, whilst Drew Gulak won the Cruiserweight Championship.

'The Future Of Flight' overcame Joe's smothering offence in one of the best matches on the card, and managed to escape the Coquina Clutch to land his jaw-dropping 630 Splash on the 'Samoan Submission Machine' for the victory.

As Ricochet went back through the curtain post-match, he was congratulated by the likes of Heavy Machinery and Charlotte before the man who brought him into NXT, Triple H, gave him a congratulatory hug.

The compliments continued as Ricochet posed for photos with his newly-won prize. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows approached him but as the puzzled champion threw up a 'Too Sweet' with them, their real intentions become clear. The atmosphere changed as AJ Styles confronted the US Champ, and the two will subsequently face-off on tonight's Monday Night Raw.

On the Kickoff show for Stomping Grounds, Drew Gulak won the Cruiserweight Championship in a Triple Threat match which also featured Akira Tozawa along with the champion Tony Nese. The three men put on a classic match but Gulak emerged victorious after hitting Tozawa (who had just dropkicked Nese out of the ring) with a Torture Rack Neckbreaker to finally claim 205 Live's top prize.
