Former UFC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis, welcomes back lightweight legend, Nate Diaz, back to the UFC following a near three-year absence from the Octagon.
Pettis is coming off a sensational debut at 170lb, after he savagely knocked out title contender, Stephen Thompson, with a breathtaking superman punch from off the cage. Prior to that though, Pettis was on an inconsistent run inside the lightweight division.
He's still got an impressive and creative striking style, along with a fluid and extremely attack focused submission game. Being the experienced striker that he is, Pettis will know that his main weapon is going to be the leg kicks in this fight. If he can land them early, he could have a significant advantage over Diaz early on.
However, if there's any fight able to take leg kicks and continue to land their own strikers, it's Nate Diaz. Diaz has a beautiful tapping style of boxing, where he gradually beats his opponents down until they can't take anymore. It's savage to watch if you've never seen it before.
This is down to the volume of his punches and the exceptional pace he puts on his opponents. Pettis is certainly fit, but Diaz is a master at draining an opponent's gas tank.
