UFC's 10 Most Dramatic Fight Finishes

The word 'greatest' is often thrown around these days, but in the land of UFC few would argue against this next bout having that superlative associated with it.

At UFC 189, a rematch between Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald (for Lawler's Welterweight title) was set to take place and with the two going the distance last time round, another war of attrition was to be expected.

That being said, I don't think anyone saw this coming.

Going deep into the fight - making it all the way to Round 5 - it was balanced on a knife edge. MacDonald's nose had erupted and Lawler was missing a part of his lip, but when the latter found a perfectly timed shot (that landed flush on his opponent's injured nose) MacDonald couldn't find it within himself to soldier on.

Resembling a scene from Raging Bull, MacDonald disintegrated into the ground and Lawler retained his title.

Both fighters paid a price for their efforts though, and the image of two bloodied warriors swinging for their lives will stand the test of time.
