UFC's 10 Most Dramatic Fight Finishes

2. Frank Mir Vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

If you've ever been unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity of someone breaking a bone, you'll know full well how stomach churning the sound is and relate to the peril that tends to ensue post-fracture.

Every fan in attendance at UFC 140 joined that club in 2011, when Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira collided in the Octagon.

Nogueira looked to have gained the upper hand in the early stages of the fight, bullying Mir with an array of long distance strikes. He then pushed home his advantage with a potentially match ending clinch, littering his opponent with substantial blows.

That's when sh*t hit the fan.

Instead of trying to clobber Mir to death, Nogueira opted to attempt a guillotine. The attempt was unsuccessful and Mir then found himself in an advantageous position, leading to a Kimura hold.

Minotauro couldn't escape and his arm resembled a pretzel, right up until the moment Mir decided he wasn't hungry and unleashed a bone breaking twist.

The noise was absolutely sickening and is as hard to watch now as it was back then.

The ref called a stoppage and Mir had come out of the other side of a one-sided onslaught to punish Nogueira for not hammering home his advantage.

It doesn't get much more dramatic than a body part being reshaped in front of your very eyes.
