5. Andre The Giant
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xkiGavjk7M Warrior's feud with the late, great Andre The Giant was brief but memorable. The two wrestled several house show matches throughout 1989, and they also had a famous encounter on Saturday Night's Main Event. By this point, it was clear that Warrior was the heir apparent to Hulk Hogan, so it was interesting to see him feuding with Andre just as Hogan had a couple of years prior. By all accounts, Andre was not fond of the Warrior's in ring style due to the "stiff" nature of his work. Bobby Heenan has always told a famous story where Warrior once ran full speed at Andre with one of his notoriously rough clotheslines and Andre, unexpectedly, put out his fist and about knocked the Warrior unconscious. Personal feelings aside, the feud was a success at the box office. The matches were usually very brief (often times less than a minute), but the fan base was always intrigued. The matches also featured something symbolic: the Ultimate Warrior body slamming Andre The Giant. As far as the WWE's audience was concerned, Hulk Hogan was the only person who had ever done this. The result of the feud was that the Ultimate Warrior was firmly a top level talent from this point forward. The blowoff for the Andre/Warrior feud came in the main event at Survivor Series 1989, as each man captained a team for a classic Survivor Series elimination match. Warrior's team, "The Ultimate Warriors", was made up of Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Marty Jannetty, and Jim Neidhart. Andre's team, "The Heenan Family", consisted of Andre, Bobby Heenan, Arn Anderson, and Haku. At the start of the match, Warrior clotheslined Andre to the outside, and he was immediately counted out and eliminated. The match ended with Warrior as the sole surviving member for his team.
