The Undertaker: 10 Landmark Firsts In His WWE Career
2. His First Outing With The Biker Gimmick - Judgment Day 2000
The Undertaker's look has changed so much over the last 24 years. He started out as this guy that never smiled or talked that dressed in black and grey. Then there were times when he was known for people. Remember when he was wrestling with a Phantom of the Opera-like mask because of a facial injury he had? His look is a big reason why he's been successful. He's the coolest guy in the room every time he walks out there. The fans love him for it. His run in the late 1990s was interesting because he went from this zombie-like character in the early 1990s to a more humanized version of Undertaker. He did promos more often because Paul Bearer had turned on him and showed how versatile he was. In 1999, he turned into the most evil version of Undertaker that tried to sacrifice people and do all this crazy stuff that we weren't used to seeing. He suffered a groin injury in late 1999, so he missed a few months. Just as he was about to return at the 2000 Royal Rumble, he apparently tore his pectoral muscle. His return was pushed back to May 2000 when he showed up at the main event of Judgment Day between The Rock and Triple H in an Ironman match. Once he returned to the ring soon after that, he was dressed like a biker that was called the "American Badass" and he was in that role for over three years. Apparently Vince McMahon has snapped at members of WWE's creative team when they bring the character up because he must have really disliked it. Vinny Mac is a unique man, that's for sure. It was weird to see Undertaker in another gimmick, but he once again proved that he could talk and was a legit badass that had success no matter how he looked.
