The Undertaker's 10 Best Matches (Not At WrestleMania)

10. The Undertaker vs. Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart vs. Vader (WWE Championship Fatal 4 Way) - Final Four 1997

The reason it was big is because Shawn Michaels "lost his smile" and vacated the WWE Title, so they had this match that was basically a four man battle royal. Eliminations could happen by pinfall or submission, but they went over the top only during the match. All four guys are great in-ring performers. Hart was as good as anyone in the world, Austin was really finding his stride, Undertaker is the best big man ever and Vader has always been solid in the ring when he was motivated. They gave them 25 minutes to have a memorable match on a show that didn't have much else on it and they delivered a quality main event. Hart eliminated Austin in a clean manner. Austin was visibly limping after he was tossed out. Austin later interfered towards the end of the match and was still limping. Undertaker eliminated Vader, which left Undertaker and Hart. Austin kept trying to interfere due to his obsession with Hart, which led to Hart eliminating Undertaker with a clothesline over the top to become the WWE Champion. What's interesting about this match is that Austin was scheduled to go over for the WWE Title, but he hurt his knee during the match and they improvised a finish with Bret Hart getting the win. You could see how they had so many referees and officials at ringside to try to relay the new finish to the competitors. Sid would end up winning the WWE Title a day later and Undertaker would beat him for it the next month at WrestleMania 13.
