The Undertaker's 10 Greatest Hell In A Cell Moments

8. He Defeated CM Punk In 10 Minutes

During the Summer of 2009, SmackDown was riding high on a feud between Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. When that wrapped up at SummerSlam, and Jeff Hardy left the company, WWE needed a new top babyface to challenge the Straight Edge Savior. Who better than one of the men more associated with SmackDown than anyone else, The Undertaker? The Undertaker was unsuccessful in his first attempt at CM Punk's World Heavyweight Championship due to Punk having Teddy Long in his pocket, but after a bit of intimidation of his own, the stage was set for The Undertaker to face CM Punk at the first Hell in a Cell PPV. The actual match is remarkably short, clocking in at ten minutes and twenty four seconds. The rumour around this time was that Undertaker was unhappy with how CM Punk dressed in public whilst champion, and Punk's response of "What about John Cena" did nothing to help him. This match is also notable for being the first Hell in a Cell match ever to feature a championship change hands, in the thirteen year history of the concept. Since then, a championship has only changed hands two other times in a Hell in a Cell match, including later on this night.
