Having previously been namedropped by AEW Women's Champion Toni Storm, could the legendary Wendi Richter make an appearance for AEW? Seemingly not.

As per Fightful Select, Richter was considered for an AEW appearance but any chance of that happening is viewed as unlikely, with the WWE Hall of Famer under a WWE Legends deal. For her part, Wendi has noted how she'd make an appearance for the right money.

Of course, one other WWE Hall of Famer who's appeared for - and continues to sporadically appear for - AEW is a certain Rob Van Dam. The Whole F'n Show has stated how he's got WWE's blessing to compete for AEW, although it's not known whether or not RVD is actually under a WWE Legends deal, as that usually tends to prevent talents from working for other major promotions.

Making her in-ring debut in 1979, Wendi Richter initially cut her teeth under the tutelage of the Fabulous Moolah and in promotions such as Stampede Wrestling, Mid-South, and the AWA. Having previously made a handful of appearances for the then-WWF, Richter signed with the market leader in 1983 and became a major player in the Rock 'n' Wrestling boom of the '80s, being paired up with Cyndi Lauper and defeating Moolah for the WWF Women's Championship at MTV's The Brawl to End It All. Richter would subsequently be a huge part of the inaugural WrestleMania, where she'd regain that title from Leilani Kai after Kai had dethroned Richter at The War to Settle the Score in the lead to that first 'Mania. Wendi would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper in 2010.

Where AEW is concerned, 'Timeless' Toni Storm has called out Wendi Richter during several press conferences, leading to some fans to speculate whether Richter could make an appearance or two for All Elite Wrestling. As it stands, that looks like it won't be the case.
