Ups & Downs For Every AEW Roster Member

40. Shawn Spears

Up

His first feud opposite Cody Rhodes was a triumph, successfully incorporating a real-life relationship to great effect. The chairshot-gone-wrong generated buzz, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard were incorporated well, and the match was a considerable triumph.

Down

A nightmare of a bout against Dustin Rhodes at Double Or Nothing 2020, in which Spears eschewed his usual slow-paced grinding for low comedy, plastering Tully's face across his penis. Rubbish.

39. The Butcher and The Blade

Up

Generally speaking, Andy Williams' noticeable in-ring upturn and the way The Butcher and The Blade have become a genuinely important part of the best tag division in the world is a major success in itself, but the Bunkhouse match with The Natural Nightmares gets the nod here. A violent delight.

Down

An ice-cold debut, as Butcher and Blade cut through the ring apron with The Bunny, dropped on an audience that had no idea who they were.

38. Luchasaurus

Up

Excellent as a dynamic hot tag in Jurassic Express' early tags and trios matches, particularly against SoCal Uncensored at All Out 2019. Luchasaurus is a one-man wrecking crew and an absolute riot to watch in these situations.

Down

The big man returned from a troublesome hamstring injury in November 2019 and looked visibly off the pace in the months that followed, his agility and quickness not even close to what they used to be. He has fortunately shaken off that rust and become an athletic force once more.

37. Awesome Kong

Awesome Kong
AEW

Up

A huge, popping debut as a surprise participant in Double Or Nothing 2019's women's bout, with AEW successfully using Brandi Rhodes as a red herring before the bell.

Down

Age and wear and tear have sadly robbed Kong of much of what makes her a legend. She looked to be operating at several levels below what she used to be capable of whenever she wrestled for AEW.
