The network are reportedly "furious" at recent WWE Raw ratings.

talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy has reported that USA Network executives want to see "more adult content" on episodes of WWE Raw going forwards.

Don't worry, this doesn't mean that the company will return to salacious 'Diva' skits or anything of the sort - instead, USA want segments that are provocative in a "dark and violent" way. They're not particularly interested in "sexy adult" content.

Phew. That could've been a major misstep.

Further, McCarthy claims that January's Royal Rumble is being viewed as a "big reset" for WWE as a whole. Fans should expect to see some changes happen before then though, because USA are "furious" about Raw's recent ratings slide.

WWE's current deal with USA will net the promotion a whopping $462 million in 2021. The network are apparently keen to justify that amount of money by seeing better productivity from Vince McMahon's group.

This past Monday's episode of Raw had both its lowest total viewership and lowest rating in the sought after 18-49 demographic. That cannot be allowed to continue, so WWE are expected to make alterations and perhaps go darker and "more adult" to arrest this current slump.
