Never change, Vince McMahon.

The WWE boss kicked off last night's episode of SmackDown by gently ribbing fans in attendance at Houston's Toyota Center. Almost 15,000 people crammed into the building for WWE's first TV show (as in, non-pay-per-view event) with an actual live crowd since early-March 2020.

That mass of humanity came unglued when McMahon's familiar entrance track blared over the PA, and they were left laughing at Vince's remarks. Atypically, McMahon kept things short and sweet by soaking up the applause and then asking, "Where the hell have you been?!".

Cue a pop, cue happiness and cue a smile/bow combo from Vince that had fans on side straight away.

People were very happy to see McMahon. Critics who tired of his onscreen appearances years ago shouldn't be frosty on this showing either - Vince was only out there for a few mins at most, and his presence only heightened the excitement amongst an already-up for it live audience.

Fans on Twitter reacted positively to this opening giggle too. This might've been the most popular Vinnie Mac appearance for a long, long time.

It had to feel good.
