Vince Russo: 10 Reasons WCW Was Its Own Worst Enemy

3. "What's A Production Meeting?"

wikipediawikipediaI swear, those were the very words that were said to me when I showed up at my first WCW show. You have to keep in mind, that at the WWE, you had a meeting ABOUT THE MEETING! Leading up to every show you would meet daily, with the final meeting coming the day of the show, at the building, where everybody would gather---that was called the €œProduction Meeting.€ There you would have your writers, producers, directors, agents, lighting guys, sound guys, everybody who was going to have an integral part of the show that day. This was the ONE and ONLY opportunity to get everybody on the same page. Prior to Ed and I arriving at the company---this type of €œstructure€ did not take place. Instead, everyone would wait to hear word a few hours before show time---what exactly the show was. Trust me€”nobody in the history of television ran their production that way€”NOBODY.
