Vince Russo Makes INSANE Claim About Triple H, Bro (WWE News)

Yes, Russo is back in the headlines again due to this erm...suggestion about WWE's booking style.

Former WWE writer and WCW chief Vince Russo believes that Triple H almost exclusively books his product depending on what fans online say he should do. Russo told Sportskeeda's WrestleBinge that "a talent at a high level" actually told him that being loved by folks on the internet "means everything to Triple H".

According to Vince, that's why Hunter booked TNA star Joe Hendry in a match at WrestleMania 41.

Clearly, Henry's online presence and popularity (he crossed over into successful meme territory via TikTok, Instagram etc) helped his case for working opposite Orton, but Russo is outright ignoring the simple truth here: Kevin Owens was injured, WWE needed a quick substitute, and Joe was the one slotted in to offer something a little different to the intense grudge match Randy had planned with KO.

There's likely nothing more to the situation than that, but Russo has Trips down as someone who does what X tells him to. The irony here is that Vince himself seemed to book aspects of WCW depending on what fans online thought - that'd explain why he went too deep into the weeds with storylines like Bill Goldberg refusing to take a Kevin Nash powerbomb at New Blood Rising in 2000 'as planned'.

That sort of storytelling flew right over the core audience's heads, and it didn't do much to sell WCW as a product worth emotionally investing in.

Regardless of the Owens stuff, Russo is determined to believe that WWE will alter their plans if somebody on socials tells them to.
