Vince Russo's 10 Life Lessons In The Wrestling Business

2. Know When You're Being Worked, And Don't Work Anybody

In wrestling, it is common place that the €œboys€---the wrestlers---tell you whatever it is that they have to tell you---in order to get their way. True, false, indifferent---it doesn€™t matter. They €œwork€ you, they try to convince you in any way that they can---that their way is the best way. Why is their way the best way, you ask? Well, normally---because it€™s better for THEM---THEIR character. It helps to put them OVER. So you have to take practically every conversation with a grain of salt. However, you on the other hand---don€™t want to €œwork€ anybody. Whereas you know when a wrestler is working you---they know when you€™re working them. So you can€™t€”don€™t even try to. Always be honest and forthcoming regardless of the ramifications. The TRUTH is what always will set you free.
