WCPW Loaded Episode 8: 10 Awesome Moments

3. Doug Williams Has A Little Ringside Read

Primate Joe Hendry
Oli Sandler / The Ringside Perspective

Rumbles are all about those crazy ways wrestlers try in order to avoid elimination. Early in the match, Martin Kirby actually caught Travis Banks, thus saving his feet from touching the ringside floor. As if that wasn't interesting enough, the veteran instincts of Doug Williams kicked in and 'Mr. Brexit' refused to even enter the ring.

Instead, he brought a little light reading with him. To the amusement of everyone around ringside (except WCPW officials, of course), Williams had a copy of The Daily Mail with him and planned to catch up on current events in the tabloid. Without even a hint of a smile, Williams didn't appear to see the problem with his little scheme.

Exiting the ring through the top and middle ropes, El Ligero took exception to Doug's methods. Ironically, this then led to the Mexican trying his best to read the newspaper himself. Meanwhile, fans nearby couldn't wipe the grins off of their faces.

How's that for avoiding elimination, just don't get involved in the first place. Doug Williams, avid reader and all-round Rumble master.
