WCPW True Legacy: 10 Awesome Moments
1. Kurt Angle Beats Cody Rhodes With An Ankle Lock
Mentioned in passing by both men during pre-match promos, Cody Rhodes had earlier beaten Kurt Angle on an independent show in the United States. That didn't sit well with the Olympic Gold Medal winner, Angle wanted to even things up at WCPW True Legacy. In the end, he was able to do so.
Cody's troubles can be traced back to a simple leapfrog attempt early in the bout. Landing awkwardly on his ankle, Rhodes was in peril from that moment forward. Moving stiffly, he never looked comfortable on that foot for the rest of the match. Like an old pro, Kurt smelled blood.
Working hard to use his illustrious Ankle Lock on Rhodes, Angle eventually managed to grip Cody in the move. From that moment, it seemed impossible to envision any other result than a Kurt Angle win. That was exactly what happened, Rhodes frantically tapped out to the submission hold.
The scores are now tied between both men, and it'd be an absolute pleasure to see them settle the score in WCPW. According to Cody Rhodes, he'll be back.
