WCW's Dungeon Of Doom: Where Are They Now?

13. Big Van Vader

As one of wrestling’s global legends, Vader’s appearances with The Dungeon of Doom are a minor black mark against an otherwise stellar career. Crossing over ‘into another plain’, Vader joined the Dungeon so he could gain ‘greater power than Hulkamania’ and become WCW Heavyweight Champion. After being defeated by Hogan, Vader was fired by WCW following a locker room brawl with Paul Orndorff.

Vader would go on to wrestle in WWF/WWE, TNA, and for various promotions across Japan. After sustaining many injuries throughout his career – including a dislodged eye during a match with Stan Hansen – Vader was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2016, and given only two years left to live.
