Arn Anderson, the second surprise for Sting vs. Flair, strolled to the ring to watch the action, observing devoid of emotion. He spent much of the match pacing at ringside without action. After Flair's disqualification, Anderson broke the illegal hold. Tearing off his shirt, Anderson grounded Flair with stiff punches, and the two Horsemen traded blows to the back.

Anderson announced his in-ring retirement on 25th August 1997 episode of Nitro. He would still be involved with on-air angles and in less physical spots.

In recent years, Anderson has been All Elite since 31st August 2019. He greatly enhanced Cody Rhodes initial booking and his dumping promo of Rhodes was a masterpiece (Dynamite, 29th September 2021). Anderson was also able to accompany son Brock to the ring in his debut match (Dynamite, 6th June 2021).
